Church ruin
This is an image of a church ruin on a little island in Lake Como, Italy. (The buildings in the background are from across the lake.) From what I recall, this island was a refuge from invaders for hundreds of years and apparently started its decline in the 1200s. I've applied a Photoshop filter to the image to make it look like a painting. Summer, 1999. (This photo is available for sale as a greeting card.)
