Travel journals
I love to travel. I especially like driving trips that let you go into the countryside and visit little towns. I love the mountains, and generally places where you can take long hikes in natural surroundings. The following are journals I wrote while on vacations since 1999. Initially, I started writing them so that I could remember all the details of our trips and so my family could share in our travels (so there's a lot of detail that may not interest the casual reader). Over time, I started getting email asking about hotels and things to do in an area, so I started adding information that might help other travellers, like the names of hotels where we stayed and whether we liked them, how long it took us to get places and whether we found an attraction worthwhile, and so on. I also started trimming back on some of the details that wouldn't interest anyone but those who were there, but probably not enough. Over time, I hope to find a happy medium.
