Travel journal: Australia
Intro and Itinerary
 | | New South Wales | This is a journal of our 3-week trip to Australia in February, 2002. There were four sections to our trip: Sydney, Heron Island (a resort on the Great Barrier Reef), driving through small towns and national parks in southern New South Wales and Victoria, and Melbourne. We loved every day we spent there, but highlights included: climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge (Day 4), the entire 4-day visit to Heron Island (starting on Day 5), hiking and seeing wildlife in the Grampians National Park outside Melbourne (Day 15 and Day 16), and some frenetic shopping at Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market (Day 18). After Australia, we went on to spend 10 days in New Zealand, which you can read about as well (coming soon).
