Lauterbrunnen Switzerland

The following is an account of our three-week vacation to a family reunion at a New York resort called Mohonk, followed by a two-week trip to Italy and Switzerland. We had so many wonderful days, but the biggest highlights were hiking through the spectacular scenary near Wengen, Switzerland (Day 8), visiting the small town of San Gimignano, Italy (Day 15), walking along the trail connecting the five towns of Cinque Terre (Day 11) in Italy, exploring Siena, Italy (Day 14), and a day of activities at Mohonk Resort (Day 3). Still, every day had its wonders and we wouldn't give up any of them. Here's our itinerary:

Wednesday, 8/25: Fly from San Francisco to New York Thursday, 8/26: Drive to Mohonk, NY Friday, 8/27: Mohonk House, NY Saturday, 8/28:: Drive from Mohonk back to Long Island Sunday, 8/29: Long Island Monday, 8/30: Fly to Zurich, Switzerland Tuesday, 8/31: Arrive in Zurich, drive to Wengen, Switzerland Thursday, 9/2: Day trip to Thun, Switzerland Friday, 9/3: Drive to Lerici, Italy Saturday, 9/4 Day trip to Cinque Terre Sunday, 9/5: Lerici, Italy Cinque Terre Italy Wednesday, 9/1: Wengen, Switzerland Monday, 9/6: Drive to Siena, visiting Lucca & Volterra en route Tuesday, 9/7: Siena, Italy Wednesday, 9/8: Day trip to San Gimignano, Italy Thursday, 9/9: Drive to Bellagio, Italy Friday, 9/10: Bellagio & Lake Como boat tour Saturday, 9/11: Drive to Arosa, Switzerland Sunday, 9/12: Drive to Zurich, Switzerland Monday, 9/13: Fly from Zurich to San Francisco
