Chapter 2: Yankee Fans

When I was covering the Yankees and being critical of the team in certain respects, such fine young men as Paul Simon, Billy Crystal and Bob Costas were growing up in Queens or Nassau County on Long Island. My scribblings obviously had no impact on them because they all became fervent Yankee fans. So much for the power of the press.
